Training

Metro World Child is committed to seeing our mission of providing hope and building futures for children in the inner city spread throughout the world, and we realize this is best accomplished by raising up and equipping leaders to reach children in their own cities and communities. We offer several training opportunities for individuals, groups and churches that are both educational and experiential, allowing participants to dive into ministry with us, whether for a week or several months. With more than 30 years of working in the inner-city, our model is based on Biblical principles that break cycles and put lives on an new path on a foundational level, and we have countless stories of lives changed across generations. If you are interested in learning our methods of how to reach children in your community, and/or are interested in becoming a partner church of Metro World Child Philippines, for a small fee, we offer a two-day training where we will teach you the ins and outs of Metro World Child’s Sidewalk Sunday School programs. We will teach you the practical know how of why we have become the most successful children’s ministry in the world.

Internship

Metro offers several different internship programs, in New York and in several of our international locations. These semester-long internships offer a hands-on, intensive opportunity to learn about what we do and jump right into ministry, as interns join the Metro team in every facet of our work. Philippines Internship

What you do:
  • Learn how to effectively duplicate the world's largest Sunday School anywhere in the world
  • Learn how to write Sunday School lessons and teach and preach the lessons to children
  • Reach children through the Metro Sunday School program
  • Visit children where they live—homes, in the garbage dumps and slums of Tondo and Manila
  • Help the Metro Philippines team with practical work and programs for the ministry

    • When:
    The Internship program is a four-month commitment:
  • September—December
  • February—May

    • Where:
    Interns will live at the Metro World Child compound in Manila, Philippines with other interns and staff.

    Cost:
    There is no fee for the Metro World Child Philippines Internship. However, you are required to cover all of your food, transportation, personal items, fun and entertainment. We recommend that you have at least $600 to cover these items. In addition, while in the Philippines, you will need to extend your visa twice. This fee amounts to approximately an additional $300. Please note, that Metro World Child does not cover the visa extension fee.

    Brooklyn Boot Camp

    Brooklyn Boot Camp provides an opportunity for individuals or groups to experience inner city life in New York while ministering to the kids and community. With several sessions offered from March - June and September - December, this week-long intensive experience allows you to live, work and learn what it takes to bring the Gospel to your city.
